Erddig is a favorite old home, so I am happy to have this history of the domestic side. I included it in my Amazon Kindle book,' Crazy American Lady's History Tour of England and Wale's', not especially for the well-documented NT visit and furnishings, but in notice of the smaller gems like the ram pump, joiners shops and launderies/5(14).
Erddig is an amazing place – a house and estate that still looks like it’s about – and one that housed a family who broke ground by looking after its staff almost if they were their own kin.
The house is beautiful, the gardens simple yet elegant, the names and stories of the staff have been kept and are re-told. Even sold in a book in the gift shop. Erddig. Erddig was built in by the Cheshire mason Thomas Webb for Joshua Edisbury, whose building ambitions bankrupted him.
